DESCRIPTION:Join us for a white elephant style book swap!\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nONE wrapped book. Any wrapping will do but we will not have supplies to wrap books here. Only wrapped books will be permitted for the swap.\nYourself and maybe a friend!\n\nWhat to do: \n\nOnce you arrive (between 5 and 5:45) and check in at the bar\, we will have you write 3 words on a card to attach to your book. Any three words to describe your book without giving away the title.\nAt 6 pm we will draw numbers to determine order. Number 1 will go first and pick any book they want\, read the three words\, and open it to show everyone. Person number 2 can steal that book or open a new one. And so on. After everyone has stolen or picked a book\, person number 1 will go again to finish us out.\n\n \nFAQ- \n\nWhen do I arrive: anytime between 5 and 5:45\nHow many books can I bring: please only bring 1 book. Only one book will be allowed to be swapped.\nWill there be food or drinks: We will have tons of sweets for purchase as well as coffee and espresso beverages and a full bar. No outside food or drink is permitted.\nHow long will this take: it depends on how many people show up. The more people\, the longer (and more fun) the swap will be. But we close at 9pm

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with The Drew Preston Band\n\n\nThe Drew Preston Band comes to The Soundspace at Captain Quack’s to celebrate the release of their second release\, “Say What You Want”. \nDrew Preston is one of the newest songwriters in Austin\, yet over the course of the last year\, he has performed at venues like Gruene Hall and Houston’s Continental Club. His combination of storytelling and soul-searching lyrics becomes an opportunity for the listener to be transported to a world beyond their own. Musically\, Drew has been compared with Tom Waits\, John Denver\, Nina Simone\, and many more. He mixes gospel with country and blues to create a sound all his own. Drew calls it Southern Gothic. \nDrew does shows as a solo artist and as an acoustic duo\, but during ACL he debuted his newest project\, the “Drew Preston Band”. A 4 piece americana / rock group that not only does Drew’s original works\, but brings high energy covers of artists ranging from Buffalo Springfield to Chappel Roan.
