Russel Taine Jr.

Austin’s own Russel Taine Jr. is celebrating the release of his newest EP Ghosts, a 5-song, 18-minute set of indie-rock fueled tunes recorded live at Austin’s own Test Tube Audio studios.
Imagine late-night drives, replaying conversations in your head, and whispers of memory and longing. “Ghosts” is moody and intimate: jangly acoustics, saturated drums, and gritty guitars floating like porch-light moths.
On stage, Russel Taine Jr. brings that quietly powerful emotional weight live with vocal lines exhaled rather than projected, and guitars and drums that pull you into the space between the notes.
Joining the bill on January 9 at Captain Quack’s are Kid Wy and Old Mr Young, adding their own layers to what promises to be a night of raw, honest songwriting and haunting melodies.
