The Drew Preston Band

The Drew Preston Band comes to The Soundspace at Captain Quack’s to celebrate the release of their second release, “Say What You Want”.

Drew Preston is one of the newest songwriters in Austin, yet over the course of the last year, he has performed at venues like Gruene Hall and Houston’s Continental Club. His combination of storytelling and soul-searching lyrics becomes an opportunity for the listener to be transported to a world beyond their own. Musically, Drew has been compared with Tom Waits, John Denver, Nina Simone, and many more. He mixes gospel with country and blues to create a sound all his own. Drew calls it Southern Gothic.

Drew does shows as a solo artist and as an acoustic duo, but during ACL he debuted his newest project, the “Drew Preston Band”. A 4 piece americana / rock group that not only does Drew’s original works, but brings high energy covers of artists ranging from Buffalo Springfield to Chappel Roan. Their performance downtown during ACL brought in hundreds of listeners that had been passing by, not knowing the band, to join in the fun!
